Stylus Project Blue: Rough SketchThe artist collective over at styl.us are putting together another book. this time we came up with the theme “blue.” The deadline is approaching and I wanted to paint Hadley again.Here’s the story:My alchemist Hadley went riding at night through fields. When a stag ran across her path, it startled her horse and it broke it’s leg.To save the life of her horse she coaxed it’s soul out of it’s body and into her alchemist staff. She then captured the life of the stag and replaced it with the soul of her horse.She will later use the life force of the stag she has stored to animate her library and transform it into an animate dragon.The painting shows Hadley ripping the soul from the stag that will be the host for her horse’s soul.The above sketch has been chopped, twisted, flipped and photoshopped but i’m happy with it.final: 18x24 oil on panel.
